Which Drinks Stain Your Teeth the Most?Pigmented deposits that are present on the surface of the teeth are what we call dental stains. Teeth stains are also known as discolorations. They are often caused by internal or external staining.

The external staining is the discoloration usually found on the surface of the tooth. The internal stains are generally caused by things like aging, use of some medicines, and too much fluoride in water.

Drinks that Cause Tooth Stains

For you to ensure your teeth are not discolored and healthy, you need to stay away from certain drinks. One such drink is black tea. This particular tea usually has tannins that are well known to promote stains. Another drink that can cause your teeth to stain is sports drinks. They are generally very acidic, and this makes it easy for them to soften the enamel. When the enamel is compromised, it usually makes it more susceptible to stains. Red wine is also another drink that causes your teeth to stain. It has tannins that cause its dark color, and this makes the teeth to stain.

Soda has also been found to cause teeth stains due to its high acid content. Cola, especially, has chromogens that play a crucial role in teeth discoloration. You are also advised to stay away from dark fruit juices. It's because they are also known to cause the teeth to stain due to their highly acidic nature. Coffee is yet another drink to avoid whenever you can. It usually has higher levels of chromogens and tannins that are known to make the teeth stain.

Tooth stains are known to make people have low self-esteem. For you to avoid this, ensure that you try as much as possible to prevent the drinks mentioned above. If you need to get more advice on the same, visit us and get all the information you need.
