Meet Ariel Canda DDS![]() Education
In high school, I loved my braces! I used to sit in front of the mirror analyzing how the position of the bracket along with the tightening of the wires would eventually move my wonky canine tooth into place. When I realized that the general public didn't share the same sentiment I had with my braces, I decided to look into dentistry as a profession. My general dentist took me under his wing and mentored me all the way up until I went off to dental school. I grew up as an "Air Force brat"; we moved from Texas, to Guam, to Okinawa, to mainland Japan, and then finally to Las Vegas, Nevada. I attended UNLV for my Bachelor's degree and then moved to the Bay Area to attend the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. I practiced for some time in Orange County before realizing I really did love the Bay Area. I moved back up in 2016 and have been loving it up here since. My passion for dentistry comes from the interaction I get to have with my patients. I know that most people would rather do just about anything else than go see the dentist, but my goal has always been to make my patients as comfortable as possible when they see me. I want to make sure my patients understand the basics of the dental procedures they will receive as well as help them prevent any of those procedures from needing to be done in the first place. I love getting to know my patients and hearing their stories like what they did on the weekend, where they love to travel, what their interests are, etc. Whenever I'm not working, you'll probably find me at the gym lifting weights, at home binge watching some of my favorite TV shows or movies, at an ice cream shop, or at Disneyland!
