Meet Emily Zhang, DDS One of Our Palo Alto Dentists
Education
I believe dentistry is a unique blend of medicine, engineering, and artistry, making it a fascinating and rewarding profession. My own experiences as a dental patient—having all four impacted wisdom teeth extracted, enduring two phases of braces, and undergoing a gum graft—have given me a deep appreciation for the importance of compassionate and effective care.
My practice philosophy emphasizes prevention as the foundation of oral health, with treatment as a supportive measure. I find great fulfillment in educating patients about the connection between oral health and overall wellness. It’s a privilege to guide patients through their treatment journey, ensuring they understand both the procedures and their underlying necessity.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Biology with honors from Johns Hopkins University before completing my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I am an active member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association, and I stay current with the latest advancements in dental technology through continuing education.
A Bay Area native, I grew up in the Walnut Creek suburbs and am proud to serve the Peninsula community at Palo Alto Oral Health. When I’m not in the office, you can find me exploring the newest viral bakeries, trying to improve my golf game, or planning my next international adventure.
I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese and look forward to helping patients of all backgrounds achieve healthy, confident smiles. I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Palo Alto Oral Health and can’t wait to meet you!
