What is the recovery like
Laser technology is very efficient, therefore, if the periodontist used a laser for the operation, then the healing process and duration will be short. This is because the process is minimally invasive. If a scalpel is involved, you will need to be stitched up after they are done with the operation. Two weeks is the maximum time needed for full recovery in either case. Mild pain and irritation are also expected, but if you use and follow the dentist's instructions you will be assured of a quick recovery. For mild pain, you will be given antibiotic prescriptions that also help in killing the bacteria that might tend to access the area of operation. During this recovery journey, you are expected to stick to a soft foods diet of maybe soup or smoothies.
